Homer’s Mission Statement  
The mission of Homer’s Coffee House is share the love of Christ in a clean, comfortable environment, where people can gather to enjoy conversation, live music, and the highest quality specialty coffee, other drinks, and food.

Purpose

Homer’s Coffee House is a ministry of Kansas City CBMC, Inc, a 501(c)3 corporation. The Christian Business Men’s Community. CBMC was founded in Chicago in 1930 and the Kansas City group began around 1941. Throughout the seventy-five year history, CBMC has been involved in many areas of ministry to the community.

Today, Kansas City CBMC has four main areas of focus:
· One-on-one discipleship
· Small group ministry
· Special Events
· Homer’s Coffee House

Homer’s Coffee House opened in September 2001 under the direction of Jim Mathis. Jim became Metro Director for Kansas City CBMC in 1996 with the mandate to find new avenues to reach the city and the culture with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Five years of research and prayer lead to the vision of a Christian coffeehouse that would be a center of community, an outreach to the city, and a venue for Christian artists, musicians, and performers.
